Year of the Tiger is part documentary theatre and part devised work created in response to the current times of COVID-19 and civil unrest. It was written specifically to be realized in a hybrid theatre/film format. This play follows a news anchor during a special broadcast of the show, First Impact, as they recap 2020 through interviews. The broadcast is interrupted, however, when a tiger appears in the anchor’s house partway through the broadcast, wanting to tell the audience “the truth about the truth.”
This production was filmed in person following strict COVID-19 protocol and then edited and released as a film.
